Golf Pro Alison Ibarra Joins Spring Creek Team
Alison Ibarra has been playing since age 14, when she found her grandfather’s old clubs in a barn behind a family home and began hitting golf balls with her cousin for their dog to fetch. The only female on her Oak Hill, W. Va. high school golf team, Ibarra also was the only student to letter in golf all four years.
After high school, Ibarra turned her love of golf into degrees in business and professional golf management from Methodist College in Fayetteville, N.C. She also played on the Methodist College Women’s golf team, which was (and still is) the top-ranked Division III golf team in the nation. She has completed golf internships at Haggin Oaks in Sacramento, Calif., the Country Club of the Rockies in Vail, Colo., and The Greenbrier in White Sulphur Springs, W. Va. Most recently, Ibarra worked as an Assistant Professional at North Ridge Country Club in Raleigh, N.C.
Since college, she has worked with golfers of all ages and abilities, including veterans with disabilities and amputations as well as stroke and heart attack survivors. Says Ibarra, “People can play golf from age nine to 90, so I enjoy training and helping people of all ages learn to play.”
